Rifle shooting is a sport that demands great concentration, a strong mental approach, coupled with the ability to adjust to the conditions and a solid aim.
U.K. university clubs tend to shoot weekly at local shooting grounds or ranges in the afternoon/evenings and compete in various competitions throughout the year, including the annual BUCS Rifle championship events.
Though U.K. universities do ask anyone who doesn’t have their own license to complete a taster session before you will allow them to attend one of the shoots, for safety reasons.

Rifle clubs throughout the U.K. are very inclusive and welcome student-athletes of all genders, abilities, and levels of experience.
In addition to providing students with a great opportunity to stay fit and enter competitive events, they also provide a fantastic environment for students to meet and socialise.

Sport Scholarships
Some U.K. universities are able to reward talented athletes with scholarships to support their involvement in their sport alongside their studies.
Each student will need to be considered for a scholarship on a case by case basis. If you have previously competed to a high standard and would like to explore the possibility of pursuing a scholarship in the U.K. we are happy to provide free guidance to help you assess your availability options in the U.K.
