After being introduced as BUCS sports in 2021, Baseball and Softball continue to grow at the UK university level.
Despite only recently being recognised as BUCS sports in 2021, both baseball and softball are becoming increasingly popular in the UK with more and more universities entering teams every year.
With hundreds of external baseball and softball clubs already established in the UK, the introduction at the university level has been a huge step forward for both sports.
Whether you are looking to play at a competitive level or for the first time, there are plenty of opportunities for students of any ability to enjoy both sports.

The regular season typically starts in October with league fixtures leading to the knock-out and play-off stages of the Championship event in March.
There are currently over 20 university teams from around the UK competing against each other every year, with that number expected to grow in the years ahead.

Some U.K. universities are able to reward talented athletes with scholarships to support their involvement in their sport alongside their studies.
Each student will need to be considered for a scholarship on a case by case basis. If you have previously competed to a high standard and would like to explore the possibility of pursuing a scholarship in the U.K. we are happy to provide free guidance to help you assess your availability options in the U.K.
