Field Hockey is a popular sport throughout the U.K. and offers a wide number of opportunities for both male and female players.
It is in fact the second most popular team sport in the U.K. university sport system, comprising of over 550 men’s and women’s teams playing across seven different divisions. Hockey teams are often some of the largest on campus, where it would not be uncommon to find over 200 members between both the men’s and women’s teams. It’s also not uncommon for U.K. universities to field as many as 10+ teams into various leagues to ensure all of their hockey players have the opportunity to play competitively.
There are lots of opportunities for players of any ability, experience and level of study to get involved with hockey alongside their U.K. university degree.
