This highly anticipated Outdoor Athletics Championships saw over 1,500 university students from across the UK come together to compete in a range of different athletic disciplines, all vying for the chance to become national champions.

With almost 50 finals taking place over three days, the event showcased some of the most exciting and talented athletes from universities across the country. Records were broken, titles were retained, and new champions were crowned in a thrilling bank holiday weekend of university sport.

Held at the impressive Manchester Regional Arena, the Championships provided a fitting finale to the university sports calendar, and we’re excited to bring you all the results from this year’s event.

Breaking Records: BUCS Continues to Produce Elite Talent

The Outdoor Athletics Championships are one of the many sporting events hosted by BUCS that showcase the incredible sporting talent within the UK university sport system.

With records being broken in the Women’s 100m final (Leonie Ashmeade of Sheffield Hallam), the Men’s 5000m final (Tom Mortimer of Loughborough), and the Women’s Shot Put (Serena Vincent of Portsmouth), the Outdoor Championships provide a unique opportunity for students to demonstrate their skills and represent their institutions on a national stage.
