On Saturday the 22nd, the Worcester Wolves host the Loughborough Lightening in the season opener of the British Wheelchair Basketball Women’s Premier League.
The BWB’s Women’s Premier League will be home to the world’s best women’s wheelchair basketball players and will be the first professional para-sport league in the United Kingdom.
The inaugural BWB Women’s Premier League season will see the founding four teams play each other on three occasions, concluding in May 2022. Each of the founding four teams are based at U.K. universities: Cardiff Metropolitan University, Loughborough University, University of East London and University of Worcester. As well as hosting BWB Women’s Premier League Teams, these four universities will also act as elite bases for top male and female players in the sport.
