Over 1,500 athletes took part in the 2022 BUCS Cross Country Championships in Middlesex last weekend.
Returning for the first time since 2020 due to the pandemic, one of the biggest cross-country events on the student-athlete calendar took place in Middlesex, England this past weekend.
Standout performers included former Harvard student Will Battershill, now representing Birmingham University taking gold in the men’s 10km race and Loughborough’s Kirsty Walker victorious in the women’s 8km, after finishing fourth in the previous Championships.

Upcoming Athletics Events
The next event in the athletics calendar for students will be the Indoor Athletic Championships (Part of BUCS Nationals) which will take place on the 18th-20th February in Sheffield.
Athletes will have the chance to compete against the country’s best in a wide variety of disciplines. Track events include 60m, 60mH, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m and Relays. Field events include High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault and Shot Put.
